Orange County California has some wonderful places to take our small fry for some good old-fashioned outdoor fun-it always been that way. When my sister and I were growing up in Los Alamitos, my mom would take us to several beaches and parks on a regular basis. When my kids were growing up, I took them to the same great spots. And now, my grandchildren will get to do the same! Okay, one isn’t born yet, and the other is a mere seven months old, but I think you can see that when you have “an oldie, but a goodie”-they’re going to keep being around generation after generation!

3 Easy Vegetable Crockpot Dinners

If you aren’t in the mood for beef or need a meal with no meat in it, the following are three recipes you can use with your crockpot.
Recipe #1 - VEGETABLES ITALIAN-STYLE
1 teaspoon salt
1 medium eggplant, cut in 1″ cubes
2 to 3 medium zucchini, halved & sliced 1/2″
1 large onion, sliced thinly
12 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 plum tomatoes, sliced 1/4″ thick
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 cups tomato sauce
1 teaspoon oregano
salt and pepper, to taste

We almost brought home a pup when our daughter was 18 months old and I was pregnant with our son, Adam. At the last moment, we realized that this was probably not such a great idea. So we used the deposit for things our mischief-making, but much loved cat Snowy could use.
Our daughter Sarah was crushed. My husband told her that when we moved to a house and had a bigger yard that we would definitely get a dog then. We didn’t plan on moving for several years. But as life and Murphy’s Law would have it, we would up moving a year later. Sarah had learned how to take the safety gate off the stair case! So with her 6 month old brother in tow-we moved to a ranch-style home-quickly.
