Just when you think we’ve finally reached a new level in our lives by owning a personal computer as we would a television set we now expect our local and county governments to also include themselves by using technology more in order to provide the services we expect from them to be much more easier.

However, this is not the case. Here’s why. I submitted a traffic citation to the Chicago traffic revenue department and had to wait for one month to get it to clear. I had placed calls to the department and most of them were on the re-dial button several times per day just to get through. Finally, when I did get through, I was either re-directed or told that it hasn’t been ‘pulled’ yet.

RSS stand for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. This is usually of the file format XML or Extensible Markup Language. In actual fact, RSS file type is a subset of XML. RSS Specifications: XML XML is basically a format that describes or defines a set of data. This is very different from other markup languages such as HTML. HyperText Markup Language (HTML) displays data or sees how a data looks like. RSS also describes and defines data. However, neither RSS nor XML could replace the HTML. They could only harmonize with HTML. RSS Specifications: Function The main application of RSS is to send updates or changes about websites to end users. An RSS file is relatively easier to transfer and only consumes very little space. Because of this, it is a very favourable method for sending updates. RSS could be viewed with the use of an RSS reader. An RSS file does not look like a web page but like a raw HTML code page. RSS files are like your standard text file that is created to produce or edit a webpage. However, instead of displaying a webpage as a result, its main focus is to identify a given set of data. It mainly characterizes the parts of the said data and marks it up. It,s like a tag in your standard HTML code. If you,re familiar with how HTML works this should be easy for you to understand.
